Variegated Threads - Different Uses, How To and Various Looks

Variegated Threads
A
2 strands – match the variegation – stitch using the English method (each stitch completed in its entirety) – stitched in horizontal rows.
B
2 strands – match variegation – stitch using the English method – stitch in vertical rows.
C
2 strands – match variegation – stitch using the sewing method (stitch each row of one color completely and then go back and finish the stitch, going the other way – needle is usually in two holes at the same time ) – stitch in horizontal rows.
D
2 strands – match variegation – stitch using sewing method – stitch in vertical rows.
E
Brick pattern – 2 strands – match variegation – stitch using the English method in horizontal sections (3 or 4 stitches dependent on the wished end result.
F
Bark pattern - 2 strands – match variegation – stitch using the English method in vertical sections (3 or 4 stitches dependent on the wished end result)
G
Checkerboard pattern - 2 strands – match variegation – stitch using the English method - every 2nd stitch in vertical / horizontal rows – finish this pattern for the area to be stitched in this color and then fill in the empty stitches.

Watercolor Effect - 2 strands – match opposite variegation – stitch using the sewing method – in horizontal rows.

Hildebrandt ® method of stitch - even sided space - 2 strands – match variegation – stitch using English method – stitch along the outside perimeter – then in an ever smaller pattern, fill in the opening with stitching.
